More Ice Reports and Other Stuff

Nite Newsletter
The Nite Newsletter was mailed a couple of weeks ago.  If you didn't receive one, or you know someone who should get one, please let me know.  I have a few extras here.  The dues form is in the newsletter, support your class and send us a check!

Madison ice report
There is a sheet of good ice at the west end of Lake Mendota.  It closed after our huge snow dumps.  An inspection was made on New Years day and another will be made tomorrow (thursday).  As always, you're welcome to come to Madison to sail in 4LIYC races.  If you're not a member of the 4LIYC, please be sure to line up at the ends.

I probably won't be out, at least with my boat, as I'm still on the mend from carpal tunnel surgery in my right wrist.

The forecast?  Not the best, actually it might be pretty wet, i.e. rainy on Sunday and Saturday is also marginal.

Ice conditions and launch location will be posted at iceboat.org as soon as our team of inspectors completes their work on Thursday.

Please remember that you need to purchase a Dane County Lake Access Permit, available at the launch ramp.  Parking is not permitted on Dane County lakes.

Other ice reports
Let us all know if you have ice where you are.

INCA Annual Regatta Stuff
The annual regatta is called for the third weekend in January (19 & 20), same as the Northwest.  Or as we said at the 4LIYC meeting tonite, it's the date when we'll start postponing the regatta.  I will be in Florida from Jan 16 - 23 and unable to be of much help.  If a couple folks could step up now to help with organizational details, I will send you a copy of the e-mail list.

The Notice of Race (NOR) was included in the newsletter.  I'll also be sending one to Fred Miller shortly for posting on the INCA website (Thanks Fred!).

See you on the ice.
