Nites on Minnetonka
by Mike Bloom - Nite #535

Minnetonka continues to provide excellent ice and great wind. 14 Nites spent the weekend doing circles around a couple of orange cones. It was great to see so many boats on the ice. Even Eugene Altweis dusted of the runners and made a guest appearance! The usual crowd of Slocum, Bloom, Sevey, Harry Allan, Kresbaugh and Irwin all seemed to have their boats dialed in for speed.

Nites on Pewaukee
by Fred Miller - Nite #371

PIYC called on its first club races for the weekend of 1/5/02.  Twelve Nites ventured onto the fresh ice of Pewaukee's west end and sailed 3 light air races.  Debbie Ziegler (#497) and Tom Sweitzer (#272) dominated the fleet for the day.  Sunday brought windy conditions, but the Northwest breezes made the course too small and no races were sailed.  Nagawicka Lake looks very promising for the weekend of 1/12 and club racing will probably move there.

Nites on Lake Waubesa

(From the 4LIYC Web Site)

Lake Waubesa was hard and fast today (Sunday) when the Renegades, Nites, and DNs raced. Winds were heavier than Saturday and the ice didn't soften up either. Tim McCormick won both morning Renegade races while Grant Frautschi buried the competition in all four Nite races.
