2008 Regatta and Ice Conditions Update
Once again, despite the heroic efforts of
members north and south, we've been left without a venue for the 2008 edition of
the Nite National Championship Regatta. At least for this weekend...
Snow, in mass quantities, has fallen or is about to fall all over the midwest.
Now's the time to spend some quality time at home finishing your home projects
so that you can enjoy some guilt-free sailing later on.
Our 2008 National regatta could still be called on for the weekend of December
27 & 28.
According to the rules, the National Championship Regatta will be held no sooner
than the third weekend in January (Jan 17 & 18, 2009) so that we all have a
chance to tune up in club races.
I'm attaching a copy of the latest INCA membership list, though it does not
indicate who's paid and who has not for this season. If you come across a
glaring error, please let me know.
And, if you'd like to assist your association by serving on the race committee,
please let me know. Duties of the Race Committee are to scout ice, line up
local race officials, find a regatta hotel and generally be the eyes and ears of
the INCA as we look for regatta sites.
Best wishes for a warm holiday and a new year full
of hard, black ice.
